Green Is a Great Color For Fall

Going green is important for all businesses and charities alike. Not only does it show that you are mindful of an issue that the world focuses on, but it can actually save money. Which, at the present time, certainly helps in a tough economy. The team at Charity Charms brainstormed to come up with ways of going green in all of our operations. I thought I would share some of the things we have done. At the same time perhaps giving you ideas for your organization.

Going Green In Our Products and Packaging

We are going green a few different ways. First, we make our pewter charms out of recycled, lead-free pewter. Second, our sterling theme charms come from recycled sterling. Third, we offer a recycling program. In essence, end users recycle the signature oval hatboxes they receive their charms and jewelry in. We also came up with fun ideas to reuse the boxes. Our favorites include as Barbie’s hatbox, poking holes in the lid to make a house for ants, and of course, re-gifting. Through our research, we found many clients are seeking companies that provide recycled products. As a result, a new niche type of business is developing. Especially with environmental organizations.

Going Green In Our Business Operations

To begin with, we separate our trash into recycling bins. Not to mention reuse paper, plastic bags, and tissue when possible. In addition, we try to limit excessive printing and reuse the blank side of printed materials for notes and scrap. Equally important we stopped buying bottled water. Just to name a few.
