Smiles and Beyond: The Power of a Smile to Change a Life
A great smile is something people often take for granted. Your smile spreads goodwill and can cheer someone up. Smiles and Beyond is on a mission to provide restored smiles to women and men who have experienced incarceration or domestic violence and have made a commitment to rebuild their lives. Whether it’s through prison life, drug use, poverty, or domestic violence many can often be left with extensive damage to their teeth. Smiles and Beyond serves to give one important thing back to them: their smile.
Chic Custom Event Bracelets
Smiles and Beyond raises money through special events, and in 2019 they hosted a luncheon called Women for Women. When founder Linda Parker Smith met with supporter Deborah Bateman (V.P of National Bank of Arizona) Deborah recommended doing a beautiful gift for attendees. These gifts would help spread awareness for their cause and brand the event. She recommended meeting Kay McDonald from Charity Charms and the alliance was launched!
Kay was invited to be one of the event “ambassadors,” and she worked with Linda to create a beautiful bangle charm bracelet that their target group of attendees would be proud to wear. The lovely adjustable bangle featured a logo charm from Smiles and Beyond along with a complimentary Star charm for the sponsor that provided the funds for the bracelets, DENCO. A beautiful message card that matched the theme of the luncheon was inserted into a pink organza bag for the perfect presentation. The 250 attendees left with a meaningful charm bangle that when worn, will help spread the message of the impactful service the Smiles and Beyond offers to bring dignity back to those with dental needs.
The bracelets you made a great hit. So many people came up to me and said how nice they were. It really brings so much awareness to our cause. Thank you for all that you have done for Smiles and what you do for all!
About Smiles and Beyond
Linda Parker Smith began Smiles and Beyond after a meeting with Alongside Ministries, an organization that aids men and women getting out of prison. After hearing the former inmates’ feelings about their teeth, she was committed to giving them new smiles. Today, 10 dental labs and over 70 dentists assist Smiles and Beyond with dental services. They have served more than 300 former inmates since 2010 and anticipate helping 35 domestic violence survivors this year. Smiles and Beyond continues to grow and fulfill its mission knowing just how important it is for these men and women to feel like confident and productive members of society.
