Philanthropy Down Under

2015. it’s a New Year, and my husband and I are in New Zealand. We got here New Year’s day to spend a few weeks seeing friends and family. He is a Kiwi!  This trip, I was surprised and delighted to see how New Zealanders have embraced the spirit of philanthropy, and aligned with many causes and campaigns that are also running in the USA.

This was not the case 20 years ago when we first married.

Exploring Philanthropy Down Under

A Kiwi magazine Mindfood features articles about breast cancer awareness, saving animals, and women’s heart health through the Go Red for Women/New Zealand campaign.

It makes the world seem not so big, and aligned for the common good. I imagine I would experience the same thing if I was in England, South Africa, or Argentina.

In our ten year history, Charity Charms has made meaningful charms for clients not only in the USA but worldwide.  For example the Royal Children’s Hospital in Australia, and The Emirates Arthritis Foundation in Dubai. Plus the Whangarei Boys’ High School in New Zealand.

It warms my heart to see so many cultures embracing the importance of supporting causes in a combined effort to make the world a better place for all.

Happy New Year!
